Jai Jalan

Canadian designer Jai Jalan is known for his organic and sinuous style. He began his career designing the Fiat 500 and the Alfa Romeo 8C, and has designed important yachts for many international clients.

He has been active in the furniture industry since 2006. His collaboration with Gruppo Euromobil has produced some of Desiree's best-loved designs, all winners of the Young&Design International Award — the Tuliss sofa, the Eli Fly chaise-longue and the Tify bergère.

A self-proclaimed eccentric designer and artist, Jai considers himself an outsider in the truest sense, given his multicultural background and cross-disciplinary work from design to art. He has held several exhibitions as a fine-art photographer and, as a visiting professor, teaches courses and seminars at many design schools.
